As an educator, Minh Tran's research is specialized in Southeast Asian Dance & Culture and Dance Training Toward Performance. The Company provides an array of residency activities including master classes, workshops, lecture demonstrations and school assemblies emphasizing the technique, style and movement philosophy characteristic of Mr. Tran's repertory. Company members teach regularly in the Portland area at venues such as Conduit Dance, Center for Movement Arts and Portland Public Schools. Each draws from their individual training and professional experience to share Tran's unique style with both children and adult students.
A sought-after dance educator, Mr. Tran has been on the faculty of the University of Washington where, as an Associate Professor of Dance, he taught Modern and Ballet Technique, Introduction to Dance and World Dance and Culture with a focus on Southeast Asian forms.
